When a child joins a Scout Troop, they are joining or
continuing in, the exciting world of Scouting. Some have
moved on from a Cub Pack and Scouts is the next step to
becoming an Explorer Scout.
The Scout Association started with Boy Scouts in 1907.
See also History of the Scouting.

|
Scout Troops are generally mixed, for 10½ - 14 year olds
and generally meet one evening per week during term
time, usually at their HQ. Some specialist venues are
occasionally used and prior notice is always given.
Scout numbers are limited and whilst there is generally
room for those interested, there can be a waiting list.
