Fundraising

The second fundraising event has been planned for Sunday 23rd May. It is a catering day at a charity event at Castle Quarry in Tytherington. If you are going to France you must turn up and help otherwise you will have pay for the full cost of the trip yourself.

Who's going

The interest in the trip has been fantastic and we have 17 Explorers from SuperNova, 5 Adult helpers as well as Bruce and James going.

The outline

We will be travelling with a specialist youth group travel operator; Jeka. SuperNova have travelled with them in the past and been extremely pleased with the holidays they have provided.

We will fly from Bristol to Beziers where we will be met by Jeka. We will have our own house for the week and be free to plan our our programme. Jeka will provide the food and will have representatives on the group to help us during our stay.

The programme

The programme will be confirmed nearer the date of departure. Once the cost of the activities is known we will discuss with everyone going what it is they would like to do.

The cost

The full cost is now more likely to be £600 however we are organising fundraising events to try and reduce this amount. We hope to raise £100 per person provided everyone helps. To date everyone should have paid £250.

We have bought the flights, which were a little more than we had anticipated. This has left our activity budget quite tight. We will need to do some fundraising to increase this over the next few months and we are looking for parents and explorers to help with this. If you would like to be involved, please let us know.

The cost includes flights, airports transfers in France, food, accommodation, insurance, a personalised polo shirt and activities for the whole week.

What's next

If you haven't brought James a copy of your passport or paid the first £250, please do this as soon as possible. We also need to start fundraising, so if you have any ideas, please let us know.
