Quantock birthday camp - Friday 26th to Sunday 28th February 2010

Back to Past events

We try to go away every February to celebrate the start of SuperNova in 2003 - now seven years old.

This year we returned to the Campbell Room in the Quantocks. This is a great little building for Scouts and Guides just off the A39 near Nether Stowey. After arriving at 7:45 on Friday, there was time for some wide games and supper before bed.

After breakfast on Saturday, we went up onto the top of the Quantocks for games and challenges before lunch. Then we went in search of a beach at Watchet for more games. Unfortunately, although the tide was out, there is no sand at Watchet!

Dinner was prepared by our own in house chefs and was well received by everyone. Then it was time for party games and challenges.

After another cooked breakfast, there was an Alphabet Challenge walk - see if you can figure out which letter these pictures represent! It was a close run competition with joint second place going to the Boys and Mixed teams on 62 points. However, our "runaway" winners on 63 points were the Girls.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and to Bruce in particular for organising most of it!
