South of France summer camp - Monday 16th to Monday 23rd August 2010
What a week - great activities, fantastic weather and amazing fun!
The House
We had a house to ourselves in a village called Les Vignes. This is in the Gorge du Tarn in South East France about two hours from Montpellier and the Mediterranean.
We flew from Bristol to Beziers where we were met by a coach and taken to our house. The boys and girls dorms were upstairs with their own bathrooms and leaders stayed on the ground floor away from the noise!
We were about five minutes from the river and about anther five from the shop (singular!). With our own sunbathing terrace and lawn we could hardly complain.
The Activities
Week was full of activities; some new and some familiar favourites. We had a go at rafting, via ferrata, high ropes, canoeing, biking and swimming. We had a day at the seaside and water park as well as plenty of lying around and doing nothing.
The People
It was a mixed bag - 17 Explorers from SuperNova, three Explorer Leaders, two Scout Leaders and a Cub Leader. Thanks to everyone for making the week so easy for the leaders and a good laugh.
Thanks to Bruce, Rachel, Steve, Rob and Sam for all their hard work and to everyone who took part - we hope you enjoyed it!
