Wild camp - Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th October 2009
We left Bristol in the rain and arrive in Wales in the sun (as usual ;-) After making our way across farmland and fields, we broke out onto the moorland. Unfortunately, just after lunch the weather turned and we made straight for the Chartist Caves.
After finding a flat spot to pitch the tents, we retired to the shelter of the cave to change our of wet clothes and cook tea. We were a bit surprised when we were interrupted by three people coming out of the cave who had been at lower depths digging for five hours.
It has to be said it was quite windy during the night! However, we all woke up ready for breakfast and the walk back to the minibus. Next time, the girls have agreed to choose their own route off the mountain and not to follow the boys through ferns and down a stream ;-)
