“Youth Shaped” Scouting not only improves the way we Scout, but also actively benefits the young people involved in the process.
Learning to speak up, being heard and working towards improving something is a key life skill. We encourage and support all our members to do this. From the youngest Squirrel to our eldest Network members.
We want every young person to shape their own adventure. We want young people to make decisions and influence their own scouting experience by actively listening to others, sharing opinions, wants and ideas.
Young people should get opportunities to:
- share their ideas
- learn from and teach each other and adults
- take part in decision making
- assist with planning the programme, including activities and camps
- become more involved in all aspects of Scouting
