Gang Show 2022

Date: 26th Feb 2022 Author: Web Editor

Yes! it was a gamble, however, did it pay off? Would Covid scupper the plans and hard work over many months of the dedicated performers, musicians, stage crew, scenery team, sound & lighting, front of house (tickets, refreshments, raffle), dressers, singers, anyone else I have forgotten (sorry) oh and of course the Producers who must have had many a sleepless night? No it did not, Bristol South Gang show was back, with smiles, songs, sketches and that little bit of ‘pure magic’.

The ‘question’ would anyone come in the light of concerns still ongoing regarding Covid, well, we had a total audience of over 500 who came out to support The Gang, so really hope you all enjoyed the show.

With cast drawn from right across the district and local Guiding the lights went down and the magic started –

  • Act One
    Bye Bye Blues
    Shakespear Innit!!
    On The High Seas…Not!!
    Cub Night
    Catch Me If You Can
    D.I.S.C.O
    Recording Studio
    Money Money Money
  • Act Two
    Rocketman
    A Night Out
    The Silver Screen
    Night Hike
    Hey Mamma
    Those Were The Days
    Finale

With a special mention to those who gallantly performed the in between scene sketches for their originality when things did not go as quickly as planned and also to Flo ‘n Joe, without an appearance from them, the show would not have seemed complete!

Special thanks must go of course to the sponsors, without your valuable help the show might not have been the success that it was. Also to Bedminster Down School for again generously providing the venue and to the 148th for the use of their HQ for the long programme of rehearsals.

And finally, would you like to be in the next District Gang Show? go on give it a go, performing, back stage, front of house or bringing whatever talents you have to making the next show even bigger and better. Use the ‘Contact’ form on this website or if you know the producers have a word with them, but please let them recover from this show first, they deserve a rest!
