St.George’s Day 2022

Two years since our last gathering at St. Mary Redcliffe Church, to commemorate our patron saint, St. George. How time flies!

With the traditional elements of the procession of flags to the altar plus some new features, more news of this in DC Paul’s separate newsletter article.

Meeting together also provided the ideal opportunity to make some presentations, with long service awards going to

and an incredible 50 years
Eileen Stanfield – 255th & District (sorry, about the late 40 years as well).

and an outstanding 60 years
Margaret Slade – Chair, District Appointments Committee & District Vice President.

Special Congratulations going to
John Minty – Group President 175th on the award of The Silver Acorn, for specially distinguished and appreciably better than outstanding service to Scouting.

Although not present (as they were at the national service at Windsor Castle) we send out warmest congratulations to
Daniel Stubbins – Scout – on the award of
The Chief Scout’s Commendation for Meritorious Conduct
Andrew Scully on the Bar to the Silver Acorn for continued distinguished services.
