Events and News
Taster day for the “GSLs & Commissioners of Tomorrow” 19th Nov 2022
If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be a Group scout Leader or commissioner, this day is for you!
The GSL and commissioners are here to support leaders, not to direct them. Volunteers don’t like being directed anyway!
Run by Clive Sandrey, our county training manager, and supported by some of our most successful GSLs, this will separate the truth from some of the myths.
This course is open to any leader who might be thinking about scout management in the future, or who is just plain curious!
- Saturday 19th November 2022
- Location- TBC (a Scout HQ in South Bristol)
To register, contact Scott Stowell scott.stowell@avonscouts.org.uk

Adventurous Activities Update from Ben Wherrett
Adventurous Activity Permits: Our young people need you!
Do you have skills that could help our YP get more out of Scouting? Do you enjoy an activity and want to take your knowledge further? You could already have the skills!
Having a permit could also mean cheaper camps as you may not have to pay for instructors. Furthermore, the district and county may be able cover some of your costs. It really is worth it.
If you want to know more, have a look at the link below (application form at the bottom of the link) or email me.
